The Red Cross Mission Statement is clear:

"The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies."

Since the Dyer County Chapter was first organized, it has performed those duties to its fullest potential.

Storm Shelter Opens at Dyersburg First

The Dyer County Chapter of the American Red Cross has opened up a storm shelter at Dyersburg First Assembly of God. "We are here for anyone that needs to come," said Red Cross Shelter Manager Maria Starks. The shelter is located at 730 East Court and has a capacity for approximately 75-100 people.
